During my studies of English language and literature and my subsequent activities as a musician I started to provide translations for different musical instrument manufacturers and distributors. Back then synthesizers, drum computers and digital technologies were still revolutionary innovations. More companies asked for my service and translations became an integral part of my work.
The advent of private broadcasting in Germany and my enthusiasm for home recording spurred my interest in sound engineering. After my training as an audio engineer I worked at a radio station for several years. This gave me thorough insights into sound studio techniques and helped me a lot with translations for companies which specialized in broadcasting equipment.
With the onset of the internet era I concentrated more and more on digital publishing and web design and started to insert translations directly into the layout of the original manuals and web sites. I worked as a digital media designer for different companies and took advanced training courses in web design, Flash, PHP, SQL, Typo3, and WordPress.
